Privacy
What we keep, why we keep it, who else sees it, and how to delete it.
1. Scope
Deepfront is developed and operated by Goshant Meher, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. It applies to the game and to this website.
Signing in is optional: with Google on Android, with Game Center on iPhone (section 11). If you do not sign in, your progress is stored on your device only and we keep none of the account information described in section 2.
2. Information we collect
When you sign in, we keep the following:
- Game progress — your level, ether, gems, modules, unlocks and how far you have progressed.
- Identifiers — your Google Play Games player ID, which is how we recognise your account, and an identifier for each device, which is how we tell your devices apart.
- Player name — initially your Google Play Games gamer tag. You can change it at any time in Settings.
- Purchase records — for each purchase, the Google order number, the item bought, its price, the date and Google's receipt. A redeemed code is recorded in the same way, without a price.
We do not collect your real name, your email address, or your card or any other payment details. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play, which does not share payment details with us.
3. Information collected by advertising
Deepfront shows rewarded ads only: you choose to watch an ad in exchange for an in-game reward, and no ad is ever forced. Ads are served by Google AdMob. The AdMob software in the game collects the following and sends it to Google:
- your device's advertising ID;
- your IP address, which indicates an approximate location, never a precise one;
- how you interact with the app and its ads, such as launches, taps and ads watched;
- performance data, such as launch time.
Google uses this information to serve and measure ads, for analytics and to prevent fraud. AdMob asks for your consent before showing a personalised ad. You can refuse without losing access to any part of the game.
4. How we use information
We use the information in section 2 only to:
- restore your progress when you sign in on another device;
- rank your player name and totals on the leaderboards (section 5);
- verify each purchase with Google, deliver it once, and reverse it if it is refunded.
- answer your support requests and investigate cheating or refund abuse; only the game's administrator can look your account up, and every lookup through our admin tools is recorded.
We do not use it for any other purpose. Your information is never sold and never shared for advertising.
5. Public information
The following is shown to everyone on the public leaderboards, in the game and on this website:
- your player name and level;
- your lifetime totals — kills, waves, experience, and how far you have progressed in each zone;
- your score in any event you take part in.
Deleting your account removes you from every leaderboard.
6. Sign-in
When you sign in, Google verifies your identity and gives the game a one-time code. Only our server holds the key that can read that code. The game never sees your password.
7. Saved progress
Your account holds a single copy of your progress. If a device and your account disagree — for example after playing on two devices, or offline — you choose which copy to keep, and the other is permanently deleted. The two copies are never merged, because merging would have to guess what you had already spent, and a wrong guess would grant progress that was never earned.
8. Service providers
Your information is processed by the following providers, each only for the purposes listed:
- Hostinger — our servers, located in the EU, which hold your account;
- Cloudflare — carries all traffic between the game, this website and our servers, which includes your IP address, and stores our encrypted nightly backups;
- Google — sign-in, and payments through Google Play;
- Apple — Game Center sign-in, and payments through the App Store, on iPhone;
- YouTube (Google) — plays the trailer on this website's home page, and receives your IP address and browser details when the player loads; it sets cookies only if you press play;
- Google AdMob — advertising, as described in section 3.
Other players see only the information listed in section 5.
9. Retention and deletion
Your information is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time, by either route:
- in the game, under Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT;
- on this website at /delete-account, where signing in with Google confirms which account is yours.
Both routes run the same process, in this order:
- Purchase records that refer to you are anonymised rather than deleted. The purchase ledger is append-only, and the records are still needed for accounting after your account is gone.
- Your account, your leaderboard entry and your event scores are deleted.
- Your user record is deleted.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is deleted: your progress, your player name, your player ID, your device identifiers and your place on every leaderboard.
What is kept: purchase records, with your player ID and Google's receipt removed, so that nothing in them links back to you. They retain the order number, product, price and date, and are kept indefinitely for accounting.
Backups: our servers are backed up every night. Each backup is encrypted and kept for 30 days, then erased automatically. A deleted account may remain in these backups until they expire, and is gone from all of them within 30 days of deletion.
10. Your choices
- You can play without signing in. Your progress then stays on your device only.
- Signing out in Settings turns cloud save off on that device.
- You can refuse personalised ads when AdMob asks for consent.
- You can delete your account at any time, as described in section 9.
11. iPhone
On iPhone, everything above applies, with Apple in place of Google:
- Sign-in uses Game Center. Apple signs a proof of your Game Center player ID, and our server checks that signature against Apple's public key. The game never sees your Apple Account password.
- Identifiers — your Game Center player ID takes the place of the Google Play Games player ID.
- Player name — initially your Game Center nickname. You can change it at any time in Settings.
- Purchase records — Apple's transaction ID and signed transaction take the place of the Google order number and receipt. Payments are handled entirely by Apple, which does not share payment details with us. We check each purchase with Apple, and Apple tells our server when one is refunded.
- Tracking — before AdMob can use your device's advertising identifier, iOS asks whether you allow the game to track you. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, AdMob does not receive it. Ads are still shown, but AdMob cannot use that identifier to personalise them. You can change this at any time in the iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Deleting your account — use Settings → DELETE ACCOUNT in the game. The website route in section 9 signs in with Google, so it cannot find a Game Center account. If the game is no longer on your iPhone, write to [email protected] and we will delete the account for you.
